Very, very slow and boring - not worth your time or money

I may be in the minority, but I really disliked this book. I have read the other seals of Chance book and the whole heroes of Chance series and this was nothing like the others. All the heroes of Chance books were great - I loved them!! Each story concentrated on one brother at a time and the characters were very well developed. (Also liked the use of the obstacle course in every book.) The first book in this series was good - I liked Riley and Boone's story. This was horrible - it was so slow moving and boring. I literally had to force myself to finish it (i wanted to see if it would get better - it did not.) I never felt the connection between Clay and Nora. There were also so many other characters, I guess because of the story, but because of that, there was not enough time for Nora and Clay's relationship to grow. As another reviewer said, it was rushed at the end. I also found the reality tv show part of it very annoying. The worst part was the slowness of the story. I think it could have been half as long. It almost feels as if this was written by another author. I might give the next book in the series a chance, but if that isn't much better, I am done with the series. If this was my first Cora Seton book, I would have crossed her off my go to author's list.

I liked this book better than the first one in the series, partly because I didn't feel the author was trying to shove sustainable living down my throat so much. Also because there was a major conflict in the fact that Nora didn't want to marry Clay to meet a deadline. She seemed to give in physically to Clay pretty fast after saying no allot, but who can blame her? Clay is a man who knows what he wants, and he wants a life with Nora. It took me a while to get into the story, but Seton is very good at writing a whimsical story, and chemistry between characters. Soon enough I was hooked. The stalker angle added another level of tension. I wasn't thrilled with the way Clay treated his father, Dell; no matter how obtuse the man could be. I also didn't miss the author's agenda in this book; I'm just glad it was more subtle an agenda than in the first book. She's a good enough author, but with all the preaching her ideals, it's hard not to get annoyed at times when reading the story. Nonetheless, I look forward to reading the next one.

Wow Cora Seton does it again!! There is a reason Cora’s fans wait patiently for one of her new as soon as the finish the current new release, cause she doesn’t disappoint!! A SEAL’s Vow is the second book in The SEAL’s of Chance Creek where you get a little of today & yesterday. Clay & his friends, former SEAL’s are building a sustainable community, Nora & her friends are living the Jane Austen life all at Westfield while taping a reality TV show. Clay sure had his work cut out with trying get Nora to marry him with 40 days, she wanted a longer to get to know him, but Clay had to make her fall in love with him & marry him within a little over a month. Not only does Clay have to find a way to get Nora to marry him while cameras follow them everywhere, he also has to struggle with his father showing up unexpectedly, a crazy stalker after Nora. This book had laughs, great small community feel, a glance at characters from other Chance Creek series, closeness friendships, a little mystery & suspense-especially the scene with Nora & her stalker which was chilling- & few tears, what else could you ask in a great romance oh yea forgot about those SEXY SEALs. I recommend you pick up a copy of A SEAL’s Vow & find out why Cora’s fans go crazy when she releases a new book, like this fan & reader!!
