About the Author
Jolie is a former professor of anatomy and physiology and a military research scientist in extreme physiology, or environmental physiology, which is the study of how the human body works during exposures to extremes in heat, cold, altitude, immersion, high G-forces, injury states, exercise, weightlessness, high pressure atmosphere, and forensics. Her life work is to develop methods for top training results with reduced injuries. She put her techniques to work as an undefeated full contact martial artist, and to rehab from two (non-fighting) accidents that left her unable to walk for years--twice. Her techniques are used around the world by military teams, top athletes, and medical centers.

Great learning!

The stretches in this book are simple to learn, they make 100% sense, and they make you feel so much better. I thought I knew every IT band stretch, but NO... Dr Bookspan's (much simpler) IT band stretch gave instant relief and felt much better to do. I like the illustrations because they are simple. If you're the type to be woo'd by fancy graphics and exhilarating celebrity reviews on the back cover, you probably will say the book is cheaply made. And yes, I read some other reviews that said you can get much of the info on her website, so save your money. The fact that she puts out such a comprehensive website is a testament to her intentions and character. I'm more than happy to purchase her book so that she can continue to do her good. It's about helping out the one's who have helped you, not what you can pilfer for free. Besides, I LIKE a book! I don't want to sit in front of a computer and read sentences (computers are for looking at pictures :) I like a book to take with me to the nail salon or oil change. Plus, I can give it to someone else who needs it after I am done with it.

AWESOME BOOK!!!

I'm a heavy computer user and suffer the tight muscles that result from not the best posture and hours of mouse action. I don't usually buy fitness books as they are usually too complicated and I don't end up following through with their recommendations. However, this book is different. It's the absolute BEST book I've come across that gives simple stretches and tips that I will actually use and that have already made a HUGE difference in my shoulders, neck and back. I came across it by accident as it's not available in my local library or online in Canada. It's worth every penny!

Good, but the Kindle version is frustrating

I like the book - but the Kindle version is very frustrating, because I can't directly to a particular place in the book. The table of contents lists page numbers, but there is no correspondence to the location on Kindle. I'm giving up on it and maybe buying the paper version. I would recommend the same to anyone looking for quick access.
